Bio


Maha Al-Zahrani is a Saudi interdisciplinary artist from the southern region of The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with seven years of experience in oil painting as a self-taught painter, specializing in oil painting: surrealism and impressionism. Her work explores diverse art movements, including Cubism, Surrealism, and Fauvism. Since beginning her BFA at the School of the Ar

t Institute of Chicago (SAIC) in 2022, she has expanded her practice to include sculpture, ceramics, installations, fibers, linguistics, Islamic studies, performance art, woodworking, metalwork, fashion design, and AI. She graduated from SAIC in May 2025, and her work was featured in the BFA show at SAIC's SITE Galleries in Chicago.

Born in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province, Maha established herself as an oil painter in Jubail Industrial City. Her #2020PaintingChallenge showcased her versatility and earned her recognition, including a feature on Saatchi Art's curated list of the top 100 artists for October 2020.

Maha's work has been exhibited at the Misk Art Institute and the Athr Art Foundation in Riyadh and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as well as at The Design Museum of Chicago and SITE Galleries in Chicago, United States.

Prior to focusing on her art career, Al-Zahrani earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and worked in IT, communications, and management support, a background that now informs her business-savvy approach and provides valuable transferable skills.
